You get what you pay for when it comes to purchasing from stores that value customer service and product guarantees. Here, we’ve rounded up the best retailers and brands that either offer one stellar return policy (one retailer even allows its customers to return chicken) to those offering incredible lifetime guarantees on their products.  

1. Costco

One of my personal favorite stores, I love their return policy because all the food is sold in bulk. So if you’re curious how the frozen orange chicken is, take it home and give it a try! If you’re not pleased, return it for a full refund. And the return policy doesn’t just cover the food, you can take back anything you buy at Costco. In just the last year year I’ve returned a toddler car seat, spices, peaches, frozen chicken and more—no questions asked! The only exception to this rule is electronics such as: televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, iPOD/MP3 players and cell phones. For these, you have a 90-day return policy.

2. Aldi

Aldi is famous for its Double Guarantee: If you’re not completely happy with any product they will not only replace the product but refund your money as well! The only exception to this rule are non-food “specialty buy” items, alcohol, national brands and returns for non-quality related issues.

3. CamelBak

Outdoor enthusiasts can rely on CamelBak to really have their back for all of their outdoor sporting needs. CamelBak’s Got Your Bak Lifetime Guarantee protects against defects for the life of your reservoir, backpacks, bottles, accessories and more. It doesn’t cover normal wear and tear or improper care however.

4. Craftsman

Craftsman tools will last you a lifetime with one of the most well-known warranties in the industry. If you receive a defective tool, Craftsman will replace it for free. All you need is proof of sale to return it.

5. Dr. Martens

Dr. Martens aren’t cheap, but they last a long time—your entire life actually! Dr. Martens offers a “For Life” guarantee and will repair or replace them as you need, for the rest of your life.

6. JanSport

If your parents ever bought you a JanSport backpack, you’ll wish now that you probably still had it. That’s because they too will replace or repair your backpack any time you want, or give you a full refund.

7. Kohl’s

Don’t stress if you can’t find a receipt from your purchase at Kohl’s because you can take back anything, at any time, with or without one. The only exception are gift cards, which are non-returnable, or premium electronics which must be returned within 30 days.

8. L.L. Bean

This is another store that has one of the best return policies on outdoor clothing and gear. Guaranteeing 100% satisfaction no matter what, and for no matter how long you’ve owned something, you can return anything you buy from the store. Don’t have the receipt? No worries. You will get store credit.

9. Nordstrom

Nordstrom has a reputation for setting the bar high when it comes to return policies. The retailer was known to take back anything, in any condition and for any reason. They recently made changes to their return policy, but they still honor a customer satisfaction guarantee. You can still return items without a receipt and they will try to find the purchase in their system. If they can’t, you will get the current sale price back on a gift card.

10. The North Face
