Lots of people struggle with acne, and because of that lots of dermatologists end up prescribing medicine to manage it. Well, listen up if you have used the drug Solodyn, because those who have might just be eligible for a piece of a pretty major class-action lawsuit.

According to the press release put out by the law firm who brought the class action, Motley Rice, three pharmaceutical companies violated state competition and unjust enrichment laws by agreeing not to compete with each other and keeping the lower-cost generic versions of Solodyn off the market. The good news here: No one is claiming the medication is ineffective or unsafe.

Impax Laboratories, Inc. has agreed to pay $20 million into a Settlement Fund to settle all claims on behalf of consumers and insurers. Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp has already announced a $23 million settlement.

If you paid for or was reimbursed for Solodyn and its generic equivalent prescriptions in tablet form between July 23, 2009 and February 25, 2018, then you can submit a claim form to be eligible for a payment. The claim applies to those in the following states: AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, FL, HI, ID, IL, IA, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SD, TN, UT, VT, WA, WV, WI, WY, DC and PR.

Claim Forms must be submitted by July 31, 2018. To submit, visit SolodynCase.com or call 1-800-332-7414. If you already submitted a form to the Medicis settlement, you do not need to fill out another one.

Don’t you just love being owed money!
