Forget Luxury Hotels: Booking With Airbnb Plus Will Save You More

Nearly a decade ago, Airbnb began when co-founders Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia rented out their San Francisco apartment. 10 years later and the company has now revolutionized short-term housing and rentals, and is a competitive alternative to traditional hotels. And watch out hotel industry, because they just stepped up their game. Airbnb just launched the new Airbnb Plus, which is a high-end tier of housing, targeted towards the luxury hotel users. Properties are verified for quality and include the amenities that you would find in a hotel stay.

Where can you find the listings

Airbnb Plus is live with over 2,000 listings across 13 cities. They plan to expand to 50 cities by the end of the year. Cities with live listings now include Austin, Barcelona, Cape Town, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Melbourne, Milan, Rome, San Francisco, Shanghai, Sydney, and Toronto.

A higher price and higher standard

If you’re listing a property or wanting to rent, you’ll pay a higher price on Airbnb Plus than the traditional Airbnb. Every home that is listed will be visited for a 100+ point quality inspection, and Airbnb will be offering design consultation and professional photography for each listing as well. You will also need to pay the $149 application fee to list your property, however, they are promising higher placement in Airbnb’s internal search rankings and premium customer service. If you’re just looking to book, well expect the average nightly rate to be around $200/$250 on Airbnb Plus, about $100 higher than the average Airbnb listing. Find the perfect Airbnb Plus home for your next trip! Knowing you will be getting a property that is comfortable, well equipped, well-maintained and thoughtfully designed will give you peace of mind, let alone something to look forward to!
