Does it feel like your money isn’t going as far as it used to?

That’s because it isn’t, and government data shows that most Americans’ hourly earnings aren’t keeping up with inflation.

So, we can all use extra cash. In this Survey Junkie review, you’ll find out if Survey Junkie is worth it for earning money on your own schedule.

What Is Survey Junkie?

Survey Junkie pays you for your opinions. You can get paid in real money through PayPal or a bank transfer or in gift cards.

Basically, you take surveys for various brands to help the brands improve their products and services. This feedback is very valuable to the brands, so they’re willing to pay you for it.

Survey Junkie (sometimes misspelled as “Survey Junki,” or “Survey Junke”) is a fun and easy way to get paid right from your phone.

Here’s a cute video that explains what Survey Junkie is:

In this Survey Junkie review, I’ll show you how to cash out via PayPal or with gift cards to popular retailers like Amazon and Target.

Is Survey Junkie Legit?

Survey Junkie is legit because it has over 10 million members and has earned 4.3 stars out of 5 from over 93,000 Survey Junkie reviews on the Google Play store.

There are another 73,000+ Survey Junkie reviews on the Apple App Store. These users give Survey Junkie 4.5 stars out of 5.

And Survey Junkie reviews on Trustpilot currently give it a “great” rating, with nearly 45,000 reviews giving an average rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars.

Even when a Survey Junkie review is not 100% positive, you’ll see that people do actually get paid.

In addition, Survey Junkie has a B rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and has been in business for over 13 years. So, it’s safe to say this isn’t some random company that popped up overnight — Survey Junkie is legit!

Is Survey Junkie Worth It?

Survey Junkie is worth it for people who want to earn easy money by answering survey questions about various brands. What you should know is that you won’t earn nearly as much money as you would with most jobs.

Survey Junkie is meant for you to get paid online for sharing your opinions when it’s convenient for you.

How Does Survey Junkie Work?

Survey Junkie is a free platform that works on Android or iOS or on the Survey Junkie website. You earn points by completing surveys.

You get $1 dollar for every 100 points you earn on Survey Junkie.

You can withdraw your money as soon as you reach 500 points ($5 dollars). You can also cash out via PayPal or gift cards to popular retailers. I like how Survey Junkie makes it so easy to get your rewards.

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of Survey Junkie:

Step 1: Create Your Account

Just enter your email address or use your Facebook or Google account.

Then, confirm your account, make a password, and start earning points!

Step 2: Complete Your Profile

It’s important to fill out your profile honestly so you get matched up to surveys that are relevant to you. Plus, if you’re dishonest, Survey Junkie can suspend your account. Ouch!

Step 3: Earn Points

You earn points you can turn into cash or gift cards by choosing from online surveys or phone surveys, participating in online or in-person focus groups, and more.

Paid Surveys

You’ll see surveys on your Survey Junkie dashboard. You’ll see how many points you can earn with each survey as well as how much time they’ll take to complete.

So, a good strategy is to choose surveys that interest you and pay a fair amount of points compared to the time they’ll take to finish. Survey Junkie even tells you the approximate number of points you’ll earn per minute!

You should know that many of the surveys first need to see if you’re qualified. So they’ll ask you some quick questions before you can move on.

What’s nice is even if you don’t qualify for a particular survey on Survey Junkie, you’ll at least earn some points just for trying.

Phone Surveys

Phone surveys tend to pay more than online surveys. But they don’t come around nearly as often.

Product Testing

Testing products with Survey Junkie also tends to pay more than online surveys. You’ll get a product in the mail that you can keep! To earn points, complete a survey about your experience using the product.

Focus Groups

Of all the opportunities, focus groups pay the most points on Survey Junkie. Focus groups can either be online, on camera, or in person.

Surf to Earn Browser Extension

Surf to Earn, formerly known as Survey Junkie Pulse, is a browser extension that allows you to earn points just by keeping it installed. This is truly passive income!

The catch, of course, is that you’re consenting to Survey Junkie tracking your online activity while you use their browser extension.

Nowadays, in the digital age, it seems like every app is tracking us all the time, so you might as well get paid for it. But I understand this isn’t for everyone.

In addition to earning points with the Surf to Earn browser extension, you’ll also start getting matched up to surveys that are more relevant to you based on your browsing history. So that could be an additional benefit to you.

Bonus Points

Be on the lookout for bonus points opportunities! These are fun, limited-time-only challenges that can really boost your points total.

Step 4: Cash Out

The best part is when you actually get paid!

You only need to reach 500 points to be able to get your reward. Those 500 points are worth $5 via PayPal payment to you, or you can exchange your points for e-gift cards to Walmart, Amazon, iTunes, and more.

Survey Junkie prevents fraudulent activity by verifying your identity. This is legit and prevents your rewards from being stolen by an evil criminal twirling his mustache. It’s easy to verify your identity, and it won’t take long. You just take a photo of your driver’s license or government ID. Then take a selfie to confirm it’s really you.

What Is The Catch With Survey Junkie?

Is Survey Junkie legit? Yes! But is there a catch? Not really, but you should know two things:

  1. Don’t get frustrated if you don’t qualify to take every survey. That’s normal.
  2. Your Survey Junkie points will expire if you don’t complete a survey within a 12-month period. So, if you plan to quit Survey Junkie, make sure you cash out first!

Is Survey Junkie Safe?

Yes, Survey Junkie is safe to use. It has over 10 million members and excellent ratings in the Google Play store and Apple App Store and on Trustpilot — so yeah, you can feel comfortable using Survey Junkie to earn extra money!

And Survey Junkie has a transparent privacy policy on their website that you can read, and you can always email them at privacy@surveyjunkie.com.

What’s even more comforting is that you don’t have to share bank information to get paid. You can get paid using PayPal or gift cards.

You also have the option to skip whichever surveys you don’t feel like answering. So, if something doesn’t seem right to you, then there’s no reason not to move on.

Pros and Cons of Survey Junkie

In this Survey Junkie review, we’re not only talking about the good aspects, but we’ll cover everything — yes, this includes the negatives as well.

Pros

  • It’s completely free to use. That’s my favorite price!
  • Easy to use and understand. Every 500 points is $5. Each survey lists how many points it’s worth. You can use Survey Junkie on just about any device, so it’s always convenient.
  • Get paid fast. You only need to collect 500 points to cash out.
  • Get paid how you want. You choose to be paid by bank transfer, PayPal, or electronic gift cards.

Cons

  • Your points expire if you don’t complete at least one survey in a 12-month period. I think that’s fair because Survey Junkie has to keep cash on hand to pay you, and if you disappear for a year, they’ll never know if you’re coming back for your money or not. Just make sure you cash out if you decide to quit using Survey Junkie.
  • You won’t qualify for every survey. It can be frustrating to see surveys and then answer the quick qualifying questions only to be turned away. But this is normal for survey platforms. The nice thing is that unlike many survey platforms, Survey Junkie at least gives you some points just for trying.
