One of the things that all of the survey apps available today seem to have in common is that you can receive two types of rewards: cash or gift cards. With rewards incentivizing engagement on these apps, how does one survey site differentiate itself from the others?

The folks at Reward Survey think they have this figured out. Unlike other survey sites like Opinion Outpost or Survey Junkie, RewardSurvey has a unique approach to rewarding its users. This article will investigate the details of how it all works.

What Is RewardSurvey?

RewardSurvey is a survey site that, like many other survey sites, compensates people for the time they invest, providing market research data by giving their opinions and feedback about products and services that businesses provide. However, this site does things a bit differently.

Unlike many other survey sites, RewardSurvey rewards its users with magazine subscriptions instead of cash or gift cards.

How Does RewardSurvey Work?

Get Started

Signing up with RewardSurvey is quick, easy, and free. On the site’s homepage, you fill out a quick form that asks you to enter your first and last name, and your email address. After that, you create and confirm a password, and enter the country you live in.

Once the initial entry form is completed, the next step is your profile survey, which they show you immediately after you sign up. The profile survey asks you basic questions about age, household income, gender, where you’re located, and other personal information. It also asks you to confirm that you are 18 years of age.

Once registration is completed, users receive a 30-point sign-up bonus (a $30 value). This lets users immediately claim up to 3 magazine subscriptions without ever completing a single survey.

Surveys

There are two ways to participate in surveys. RewardSurvey makes them available on the site every week. Survey topics can involve answering questions about clothing, travel, sports, pet products, groceries, or electronics, as well as other categories. Users can access these surveys by visiting the website every week.

People can also be invited to participate in surveys by email. It’s important to respond right away to email invites as survey respondent pools fill quickly.

RewardSurvey matches you with surveys based on the answers given in your profile survey. While most surveys take only a few minutes to complete, longer surveys do come up occasionally.

Rewards

After you complete each survey, you’re directed to the reward store. While each survey you complete will make you eligible to receive a reward, you are not obligated to redeem your points right away, and you can save them for more expensive rewards. For example, a subscription to Men’s Health may cost more points than a subscription to People.

Most of the offers in the reward store are for magazine subscriptions. These subscriptions are for print magazines, but some magazines offer a digital version as well.

While the primary reward on RewardSurvey is magazine subscriptions, there are other rewards that do appear, albeit infrequently. The site sometimes offers gift cards redeemable for movie tickets or other prizes.

The third type of prize RewardSurvey offers are discounted offers. These are deep discounts on select products. They can be claimed using a combination of points and a nominal fee. You need to provide a valid credit card to process the fee.

A credit card can also be required for magazine subscriptions. Some magazine subscriptions come with a $.99 processing fee. It’s important to read the fine print when claiming a magazine subscription as some subscriptions come with automatic renewals attached to them, which is then charged to the credit card you provided.

When redeeming points for magazine subscriptions, members can opt to give their subscription to someone else as a gift. All that is required for gifting a subscription is to input the recipient’s name and address on the Delivery Information form.

Important Notes

One important thing to remember is that points expire after 6 months. Holding on to points for too long means they will expire, and your investment of time and effort will go unrewarded.

RewardSurvey has a sweepstakes that users receive an entry for every day they are active on the site (similar to how Product Report Card rewards users by entering to win a dream car – read more here). The more days you’re active, the more entries you’ll receive. The prize for every sweepstakes drawing is $25,000, but it is unclear how often this drawing occurs.

Is RewardSurvey Legit Or Is RewardSurvey A Scam?

RewardSurvey is hard to say if it is legitimate. It fulfills its obligation to provide its participants with prizes in exchange for filling out surveys. It has over a million members and has been active since 2012.

RewardSurvey’s website states that it has paid out over $100,000,000 in reward value to its members, which again total over a million people. Survey participants are often very vocal if they are dissatisfied with the performance or behavior of a survey site. Complaints directed toward RewardSurvey appear to be few and far between. But then so are the good reviews.

On BBB’s website they did respond to one of the few complaints and this response suggests it is legitimate – but there is a lot to be desired for how they conduct business if their online presence remains so minimal.

Another redeeming factor is that there is an extensive FAQ section which is more than can be said for some other survey sites (such as Product Report Card.)

Real User Reviews For RewardSurvey

One of the troubling things about RewardSurvey is that it is difficult to find user reviews and ratings for the site. One of the few reputable ratings comes from the Better Business Bureau, which gives the site an A+ rating but only has 2 reviews both of which are 1 star.

BBB has a 1-star rating but grade it as an A+ company.

However, few reviews exist on their website. The Better Business Bureau typically focuses on complaints and how many of them occur over a period of time. According to the Bureau’s website, RewardSurvey has received a total of 1 complaint in 3 years and 0 complaints over the last 12 months.

The website DollarBreak.com reviewed RewardSurvey in March of 2022. They gave RewardSurvey a 3.5 out of 5-star rating, with a 5-star rating for “Safe and Legit.”

RewardSurvey, as of the writing of this article, has no social media presence on either Facebook or Twitter, and the Twitter page of their parent company, M2 Interactive, is, ironically, inactive. RewardSurvey had previously had a Facebook presence, but it has since been removed. There is also no account on Instagram.

RewardSurvey Pros And Cons

Pros
  • You can claim a reward after each survey if you choose to
  • You can save your points for more expensive rewards
  • You are entered into a sweepstakes every time you’re active on the site
  • Attractive sign-up bonus of $30
Cons
  • Points expire after 6 months
  • Some subscriptions have a $.99 processing fee; credit card information is required
  • Minimal reviews makes it hard to trust
  • No social media presence

Bottom Line: So, Is RewardSurvey A Scam OR Is It Legit? Can You Really Make Money?

There are things I like and things that concern me about RewardSurvey. I appreciate that registration is quick and easy. I also like the $30 registration bonus which lets people claim prizes just for signing up. Also, I’m happy that I don’t have to worry about points to cash conversions.

I don’t like having to read the fine print of every magazine subscription to see if there is an automatic renewal tied to it.

But the lack of social media and general internet presence seems like a red flag. While I would choose to contact the site directly, social media is where a lot of users go to either express their happiness or air their grievances.

What makes RewardSurvey appealing is the frequency with which users can redeem their points for prizes. The site demonstrates this by immediately taking users to the rewards page upon completion of a survey.

This is significantly better than other sites that force users to accumulate points worth barely more than a penny. A point value that small means it takes a significant time commitment to earn enough to redeem even the smallest of rewards. RewardSurvey keeps it simple by making every 10 points redeemable for a reward.
