Taking surveys is a fun, easy way to make extra cash in your spare time. Major companies use online surveys to improve their products and services. In fact, 64% of companies have reported using mobile surveys as part of their market research strategy.

There are so many online survey panels to choose from, with Swagbucks and Survey Junkie being two of the most popular options. One new panel you may have heard of is Opinion Edge.

But is Opinion Edge legit? In this Opinion Edge review, we’ll dive into the pros and cons of the platform so you can decide.

Is Opinion Edge Worth It?

Opinion Edge is worthwhile for those looking to make a little extra money and supplement their income in their free time. The surveys are easy to do when you have a break in your day, and you can take them on the go with the mobile app.

Compared to other survey sites, Opinion Edge consistently has a good selection of surveys available. The rewards system is also simple, convenient, and easy to use.

Opinion Edge isn’t going to replace a full-time job, and it can take time to earn rewards. It may not be the best option for anyone looking to earn free money now. It might also not be a fit for busy professionals who don’t have much extra time to take surveys. But it can help you save a little extra cash over time to help you meet your financial goals.

And check out our Rocket Money review if you could use a little help organizing your finances to better meet those goals.

How Does Opinion Edge Work?

To sign up for Opinion Edge, you’ll need to create an account with your email and password and answer questions about your age and zip code. Once you’ve verified your email, you’ll be taken to a page with surveys available to take on your desktop or mobile device, and you can start taking them right away!

To unlock more surveys, you’ll need to complete your profile. Opinion Edge will ask you a wide range of questions to learn more about you and match you with more surveys. You’ll need to answer questions about your interests, work, lifestyle, and consumer habits. Answering your profile questions should take five to 10 minutes.

The Opinion Edge reward system uses points, which you can redeem for cash rewards with PayPal or gift cards to major retailers and restaurants via Tango. 100 Opinion Edge points are worth $1 in rewards. Survey reward amounts are generally between 50 and 200 points, with most surveys offering a 75-point reward.

If you get disqualified from a survey, you’ll still earn 2 to 10 points as a thank-you for your time. You’ll also earn 20 points for each successful referral you make.

To redeem your rewards on Opinion Edge, you’ll need to hit a threshold of 1,500 points, at which point you can choose a $15 gift card or PayPal transfer.

As you take more surveys, you can upgrade to a higher membership level, which comes with a lower cashout threshold. Level 2 users can cash out at 1,000 points ($10), and level 3 users can cash out at 500 points ($5).

What Is The Catch With Opinion Edge?

In our Opinion Edge review, we found that you can be disqualified from surveys after answering several questions, with only a minimal reward for your time. This can be frustrating if you’re putting a significant amount of time into answering the questions. If you get frustrated by frequent disqualification, you might want to earn gift cards by playing games instead.

Is Opinion Edge Safe?

Yes, Opinion Edge is a safe survey platform. Any personal information you provide is only used for market research purposes. You can always decline to answer a question if you would like, although this could get you disqualified from the survey you’re trying to take.

In our Opinion-Edge review, we also found that the platform has a strict privacy policy that details how your data is stored and protected.

Pros and Cons of Opinion Edge

As with any online survey site, Opinion Edge has many pros and cons. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages we noticed while conducting our Opinion-Edge review.

  • Good survey availability: Most of the time, Opinion Edge has a good selection of surveys to choose from. You’ll rarely run out of surveys to take.
  • Straightforward rewards system: Opinion Edge has a very clear and simple rewards system, with the option for cash deposits via PayPal.
  • Mobile app: Since Opinion Edge has a mobile app, you can take surveys on the go and maximize your earnings.

  • Survey disqualification: Getting disqualified from Opinion Edge surveys happens frequently. You’ll still earn a small reward, but this can quickly become frustrating.
  • Reward amounts vary: Most surveys pay less than $1, so it can take a long time to earn enough for a reward.
  • Minimal customer support: If you run into an issue with Opinion Edge, you can only get in touch with their customer support team via email, and response times can be up to three days.
  • Long payment times: In our Opinion Edge review process, we found that payment delays were unfortunately the norm for this site. It can take nearly two weeks to receive your reward after cashing out from Opinion Edge.
